Junior year is half way over.... oh man I am so not read for Pre-pro... T____T Another semester before I have to do my senior thesis. AHHAJSD;FSDLKFFF!!!
Anyways, this is my second DFA assignment: "Midnight Eve". There's going to be a second painting that goes along with this one. :D Hopefully a possible thesis idea?
Click: CAREFUL IT'S HUGE.
Close ups:
Yea... I'm not a huge fan of doing environment paintings.... but I suppose it was intersting. XD; The colors and saturation keep changing on each monitor.... again. -___-

Year of the Lion
So we had to do a DRAMATIQUE piece for our Drawing for Animators (aka illustration for CA) class and I wanted to do a lion dance.
Wasn't nearly as red as when I originally painted it. I hate how monitors always screw with my colors and saturation!
Detailed close-ups for the face/fur. And yes, I did paint all of the strands. It was super tedious but I enjoyed every moment:
The compositional thumbs:
Hahaha messy scribbles are messy
I've always loved seeing lion dances during New Years celebration but always found it a bit confusing whenever I saw the people performing them. It's supposed to be a celebration and yet half the time the people under the costume always look so serious or pissed off. BE HAPPY PEOPLE. :D Joyous occasions are supposed to be JOYOUS.

lip-sync caricature
Click:
I'm still not too fond of the final design. I dunno... I'm just not a huge fan of caricatures. It took A LOT of restraint to keep myself from doing a portrait of myself.... *sigh* will I ever get this right? :/
Also the patterns on my shirt were a pain to paint. I actually sat there with that exact shirt hanging in front of me as I attempted to copy the design. XD;;; It was tedious but strangely enjoyable.

Witness
We were given 45 sec to make a concept animatic about a character witnessing something. I apologize for the really poopy compression. A lot of my colors were lost during the compiling so here are some stills to see what the difference. XD

character designs
Click for LARGE images:
These were done for my "Drawing for Animators" class (aka DFA). I had a really difficult time with these because my regular drawing style doesn't look like this. :/ Pulling designs out of silhouettes/textures has got to be one of the most painful things I've ever had to force myself to do... but I'm still going strong! (sort of....)

Subjective storytelling
Concept animatic. We were supposed to tell a 1 min subjective story. I just did whatever made sense with the music. Apparently twincest made sense with my music. :D
Please excuse the fast transitions. >__<;; I was short on time and had to cut time from other places. :/
Featuring Saikai no chi to bara by Malice Mizer
School's out. YEEEY!

Cemetery
For this project, we had to texture a tombstone, light and texture a cemetery in 2 different times of day. I chose dusk/sunset and early midday (like 10am-12pm ish) The saturation of the lighting keeps changing on every screen.... -___-;;;
Stills:
Models were provided for us by Ringling. I lit it in Maya, created the textures in PSCS3, rendered through Renderman and composited in Shake. I love Shake. XDD
Student government has kept me busy for the weekend, so I'm a bit behind schedule for Finals Week. X____x;;; GAH. You're looking at next year's executive board Treasurer. Hahaha..... oh dear.... .__.;;;

Sit Stand
Most recent assignment for CA. We had to have our character walk 2 steps, sit down, have a change of emotion, get back up and then walk 2 steps in 15 seconds.

Concept stuffs
This was our PSA/Commercial assignment for concept. We had to do a 30-sec commercial animatic and I chose to do mine on graphic design-y headphones. :D
Featuring: "MUSIC!!!" by AAA, "Love Love Love" by Epik High, "Hydra -666-" by Dir En Grey, "GDS" by Dir En Grey and "Obsession (Strings)" by See-Saw.
In progress for next concept design assignment:
Very quick character design for my next idea. It's going to be about a set of Elegant Gothic Lolita twins that have a bit of a weird relationship. :D one-sided-Twincest! XD

Ice cream trees are yummy. :] Photoshop CS3
